Mechanic Helper/ Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Mechanic Helper/Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist experienced mechanics with vehicle and equipment repairs while also operating company vehicles to transport parts, tools, and equipment to various job sites. Duties

• Support mechanics with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, including diesel engines and generators.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and schematics to perform mechanical repairs accurately.
• Assist with electrical troubleshooting and repairs, ensuring systems are functioning safely and efficiently.
• Operate company trucks or vans safely to deliver parts, tools, or equipment to designated locations while adhering to all safety protocols.
• Conduct routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as fluid checks, tire inspections, and basic repairs to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist in heavy lifting tasks using appropriate safety techniques and equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and inspection reports for accountability and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Prior dealership or automotive service technician experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, diesel engine repair, and general automotive repair is essential.
• Mechanical knowledge of equipment repair, generator repair, welding, soldering, and Caterpillar machinery is advantageous.
• Experience with vehicle maintenance including the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating various types of vehicles is preferred.
• Basic understanding of sales techniques can be a plus for customer interactions. Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
