JOB REQUIREMENTS: Kenosha County is looking for a full-time Mechanic
responsible for professional repairs and maintenance of all aspects to a
fleet of trucks and all equipment used by the Kenosha County Highway
Division performed to factory quality or better. In addition, the
Mechanic will repair buildings and yards as needed. Education and
experience will determine Mechanic I or Mechanic II. Under general
supervision of the Shop Superintendent, the Mechanic performs a wide
variety of skilled mechanical repair, diagnostic and maintenance work
all types of large trucks, automotive equipment, including heavy
equipment, such as but not limited to tractor trailers, front end
loaders, bulldozers, sweepers, rollers, paving machines, etc. and
various tools and contractor\'s equipment. Mechanic II may be required
to supervise general mechanics in their daily duties. Are you

vehicles and equipment for need of repairs; analysis may involve
diagnostic computer software for vehicle engine, transmission, and
anti-lock brake systems Performs repairs on all types of engines
Performs repairs to drive train, electrical and hydraulic systems, and
all other systems on vehicles and equipment Performs routine maintenance
of all types on vehicles and equipment Welds and fabricates on vehicles
and equipment Performs repairs on various pieces of small equipment
Repairs tires and tubes Paints vehicles and equipment Makes service
calls; repairs vehicles and equipment broken down while in service
Determines operational status of equipment or immediate placing of
equipment out of service Identifies parts, materials, and supplies to be
ordered to complete maintenance and repairs Performs other duties as
required or assigned, which may include plowing and salting highways or
any general activities involved in the maintenance of highways Working

associated equipment Recognizing, diagnosing, and performing repairs and
maintenance on all types of engines, components, and systems on vehicles
