Mechanic I

POSITION TITLE: Mechanic I

REPORTS TO: Plant Operations Supervisor

The Mechanic I is responsible for the repair, maintenance and upkeep of the physical plant and equipment. Must have knowledge of electrical wiring, plumbing and HVAC. Must have the ability to read simple wiring diagrams. Must wear uniform and safety equipment and drive facility truck.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES, including but not limited to:

1. Make rounds in the buildings of work assignment using preventative maintenance log, check for defective equipment.

2. Repair and maintain general electrical equipment, heating and cooling systems, generator, kitchen equipment, etc.

3. Install and maintain lighting fixtures including ballasts, lamps, reflectors, switches and receptacles, maintain panel boards and fuse boxes

5. Install and repair plumbing fixtures, pumps, boiler and water accessories; repair leaks and defective piping.

6. Repair all toilet, sink, faucet and drain issues, install, maintain and repair water piping, gas piping, vent lines and drain.

7. Install and repair hardware (door closers, window locks, etc), lamps, curtains, furniture, etc.

REQUIRED:

Experience in electric, plumbing, and HVAC. Must have certification in at least one of the fields.

SCHEDULE:

This position is PERMANENT FULL-TIME at 37.5 hours per week, DAY SHIFT. Every other weekend is required.
