Presdon Management is seeking a reliable, motivated Mechanic I to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and some hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment. Diesel experience is a plus, but not required—we are willing to train candidates who are eager to learn and grow in the trade.
Working Conditions:
Most work will be performed in the shop or on the grounds surrounding the shop. Offsite work may be required, including in inclement weather. Must be prepared to report to job sites with little notice when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Fleet Manager and senior mechanics with daily duties
- Perform preventative maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, brake jobs, tire service, fluid checks)
- Assist with troubleshooting engines, transmissions, suspension, and electrical systems under supervision
- Learn and apply FMCSA and DOT regulations in daily work
- Support diesel engine repairs and maintenance as assigned
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Adhere to all safety procedures and keep work area organized
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training a plus
- 1–2 years of mechanical experience (automotive, equipment, or general mechanical)
- Diesel mechanic exposure preferred, but not required
- Ability to use basic diagnostic tools and repair procedures
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL a plus
- General knowledge of small engine maintenance/repair preferred
- Willingness to learn heavy equipment maintenance and repair

License/Certification:

- ASE A5 Brakes Certification (Preferred)
