About the Role
Seeking an experienced construction professional to support a federal project at the Perry Point VA Medical Center. This role is focused on
construction oversight and coordination
for ongoing infrastructure upgrades, including
underground steam and condensate system replacement
.
This is not a field installation role. The position supports the government as an
owner-side representative
, ensuring construction activities are progressing safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily field observations to monitor construction progress, safety, and quality of work

Coordinate with contractors, project teams, and facility personnel in an active campus environment

Review construction activities against drawings, specifications, and project requirements

Identify and communicate field issues, discrepancies, and non-conforming work

Support project coordination efforts including meetings, documentation, and progress tracking
-
Maintain project records including field notes, photos, and reports
-
Assist with project closeout activities including punch list follow-up
These responsibilities align with standard construction inspection and documentation roles, which typically involve ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards while maintaining daily records and coordination with project stakeholders.
Qualifications

Background in mechanical construction, plumbing, steam systems, or related field

Experience working in
institutional or active facility environments
(VA, hospital, campus, etc.)

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Experience coordinating with contractors, project managers, or facility personnel

Strong field awareness, communication skills, and attention to detail
Preferred:

Experience with steam distribution systems or utility infrastructure projects

Prior experience supporting construction administration, inspection, or coordination roles
-
OSHA 10 or 30 certification
Work Environment

Active construction environment within an operating VA campus

Primarily on-site role with regular interaction with contractors and facility staff
