Mechanical Design Engineer

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Work Hours: 8 hrs a day / 5 days a week

Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate design works with project teams, integrating subcontractor and packaged equipment designs into process and mechanical deliverables.
• Liaise with consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure compliance with project and site requirements.
• Review and resolve technical queries; plan, monitor, and report shop drawing progress.
• Prepare technical submissions including datasheets and equipment lists.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP studies.
• Integrate design and equipment data, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
• Oversee and check designs, estimates, and project deliverables.
• Provide technical recommendations throughout design, engineering, testing, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Apply effective management skills to ensure timely project completion and provide engineering management support.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 10 years’ design engineering experience in industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of concurrent engineering, procurement, and staged-gate project development.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Autodesk Cloud, and MS Teams.
• Familiar with FEED deliverables and inter-discipline interfaces.
• Fluent in English; additional languages an asset.
• Strong managerial, organizational, and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented and results-driven.
