Mechanical Design Engineer

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

THE MECHANICAL ENGINEER WILL:

• Validate designs of mechanical coil handling and feeding machines using calculations and solid modeling techniques in SolidWorks software,
• Compute necessary engineering calculations for project specifications,
• Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, quality policies, and performance standards,
• Create drawings, Bill of Materials, and manufacturing process documentation,
• Provide technical support and assistance to internal and external customers,
• Lead project team to ensure project is completed on time and budget,
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Machining, Fabrication, and Assembly Departments to support projects through the build stage,
• Support current standard mechanical designs used for customer solutions and provide alternatives for future improved mechanical components and designs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field or equivalent industry experience
• 5-7 years in design and development of industrial machinery
• Familiarity with manufacturing and machining techniques
• Experience using SolidWorks solid modeling software (including Finite Element Analysis)
• Strong core competence in math, metallurgy, and properties of materials
• Time management and organization skills
• Experience in using Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and Outlook
