Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer - 22770

Work location: Hybrid (200 Medtronic Dr Bldg 2, Lafayette, CO 80026)

Duration of project: 12 months or longer with possible extension

Hiring Manager’s notes:

Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and require a minimum of 5 years of experience.

Working knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical product development, including knowledge of federal and international regulations, such as FDA QSR, IEC 60601, ISO: 13485, 14971, 62304, and 13485, Medical Device Directive or other regulating agencies is required.

Experience 3D modeling software, i.e. CREO and/or SolidWorks.

Experience designing and developing mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.

Design skills include an understanding of drafting standards, design progression, GD&T in compliance with ASTM Y14.5, DFSS/DFMA, tolerance analysis and DFMEA methodologies

Responsibilities:

Research, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems, such as metals, instruments, instruments, controls, plastics, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, resonance, hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.

Recommends various technological options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.

May be responsible for the transfer from R&D to manufacturing
