The job duties of this position require a motivated and adaptive Mechanical Design Engineer, who is comfortable working both independently and as a part of a team. This position also requires a strong mechanical engineer/designer, project leader and team leader experienced in designing automated equipment.
JOB EXPECTATIONS
- Good communication skills
- Ability to analyze and execute mechanical design from concept through installation
- Be effective under pressure and able to adjust to changing project schedules.
- Experienced in the assembly of designs.
- Adaptable and able to change techniques when needed.
- Establish and Maintain Project Budgets and Schedules
- Have working knowledge of servo, stepper motors, drives, bearings, pneumatics, electrical, displays and controls.
- Have an extensive knowledge of materials and fabrication processes; including aluminum, steel, plastics, and surface treatments.
- Experience with robotic systems and applications.
- Strong understanding of common mechanical engineering practices, standards, and tolerancing.
- Strong analytic and troubleshooting skills.
- Comfortable with customer and vendor interactions.
- Assist Sales with Project Estimating
- Creation of Project Cost Estimates
- Proficient in SolidWorks
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- or Minimum of 4 years of related experience in automation equipment design and installation
- or Minimum of 6 years of work-related experience required in engineering and project management related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
