Mechanical Engineer (Design – Buildings & Infrastructure)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare mechanical design calculations, drawings, and specifications for building and infrastructure projects.
• Design HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and other mechanical systems in compliance with local and international codes (ADDM, ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, BS, etc.).
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Review and approve mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Conduct technical design reviews and value engineering to optimize cost and performance.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and contractors during design and construction stages.
• Support authority submissions and obtain necessary approvals from Abu Dhabi local authorities.
• Attend design coordination meetings and provide technical support during construction.
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Assist in mentoring junior engineers and reviewing their work.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in mechanical design for buildings and infrastructure projects.
• Strong consultancy background with experience in the UAE or GCC preferred.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and HVAC load calculation software.
• Good knowledge of Abu Dhabi authority requirements and international standards.
• Strong communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on large-scale residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices and energy-efficient systems.
• Professional certification (e.g., CEng, PE) is an advantage.
