Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong focus on die design for our sheet metal fabrication company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience or keen interest in die design, with proficiency in SolidWorks and Excel being essential. The candidate will be responsible for developing and designing dies, ensuring precision and quality in the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Die Design: Develop and design dies for sheet metal fabrication, ensuring they meet specified requirements and industry standards.
• 3D Modeling and Simulation: Use SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models and simulations of dies and related components.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality control, and production planning, to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement design improvements to enhance the efficiency and quality of the die-making process.
• Troubleshooting: Provide technical support during the die manufacturing and production stages, addressing any design-related issues.
• Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
• Data Analysis: Utilize Excel for data analysis, cost estimation, and optimization of design processes.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in die design, preferably in the sheet metal fabrication industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SolidWorks and Excel is mandatory. Experience with other CAD software and simulation tools is a plus.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards related to die design.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation tools.
• Knowledge of CNC programming and machining processes.
• Certification in SolidWorks (CSWP or higher).
