Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our consultancy team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in building services design and proven experience in handling projects from concept to construction stage, including hands-on drafting responsibilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering

8–10 years of relevant experience in Dubai, UAE

Proven experience in a Lead Design role for building services projects

Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Water Supply, LPG, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, and Emergency Systems

Familiarity with local authority regulations and submissions (DM, DDA, DEWA, DCD, EMPOWER, EMICOOL, etc.)

Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, and Duct Sizer (mandatory); Revit is an advantage

Strong experience in preparing detailed shop drawings and drafting independently

Excellent communication and client coordination skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines

Strong team player with the ability to work independently

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems from concept to construction

Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and drafting work independently (AutoCAD/Revit)

Perform design calculations and develop complete technical documentation

Coordinate mechanical requirements with electrical and other disciplines

Ensure all designs comply with local authority regulations and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, UPC, UAE Civil Defence)

Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure high-quality output

Attend client meetings, present design solutions, and address technical queries

Handle RFIs, tender documentation, BOQ reviews, and post-tender clarifications

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

Identify and resolve design and site-related technical issues with cost-effective solutions
