Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Job Summary:

As a Mechanical Engineer at Ergotronix Inc., you will be key in designing and developing innovative electro-mechanical products like work positioners, lifters, and transporters that improve our customers work efficiency. You’ll adapt existing designs to meet client needs, create detailed documentation, and collaborate with cross functional teams. You will develop custom solutions in a fast-paced environment, helping to enhance our products and ensure customer satisfaction. One focus of this role will be the development of technical manuals for custom projects, making strong technical writing skills essential for success in this position.

General Accountabilities

  • Develop clear, concise, and comprehensive technical manuals that are customized to each customers unique designs.
  • Adapt existing designs of mechanical structures and mechanisms to meet new customer requirements.
  • Develop new electro-mechanical products that align with customer needs and market demands.
  • Produce support documentation, including machine shop drawings, for engineering projects.
  • Select materials for optimum cost, availability, and manufacturability.
  • Coordinate with vendors to secure competitive pricing on parts supply and fabrication.
  • Work closely with internal engineering and production teams to enhance efficiency.
  • Engage directly with customers to address application-specific challenges and provide tailored solutions.
  • Engineer custom solutions in a fast-paced design environment, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Undertake a range of tasks and projects as they arise, demonstrating versatility and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Assist in the implementation and integration of ERP software.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of engineering experience in design or manufacturing industry, preferably with a focus on electromechanical systems.
  • Portfolio: Demonstrated design capabilities with examples of previous projects.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clearly and straightforward way.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) and 2D CAD software (AutoCAD, Draftsight).
  • Strong practical mechanical knowledge with a working understanding of electrical and electronic principles. Ideally with knowledge of National Electric Codes and 24V DC wiring practices.
  • Familiarity with assembly and fabrication tools and techniques.
  • Communication Skills: Great verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical information to both team members and customers.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong complex problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and coordinate with vendors to ensure project success.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
