Mechanical Designer

Handling Systems International (HSI) is a well-established, family owned, innovative design and crane manufacturing company for the industrial and material handling industry. With 63 years in business and a large international distribution network, Handling Systems is looking to grow their market share with current product redesign and new product development.

This Solidworks Design Engineer will take new customer orders and work collaboratively with sales and engineering staff as a member of the engineering team to create product models, customer drawings, and manufacturing drawings to meet customer specifications and HSI manufacturing capabilities. The candidate will lead the production product release process for our NIKORail enclosed track product line. This includes fabrication drawing creation, Structured BOM creation, Pack list creation, and installation manual creation. Experience utilizing SolidWorks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is a must!

• Using SolidWorks 3D CAD software create high quality designs and mechanical drawings. Develop detailed product drawings and specifications that allow manufacturing to correctly fabricate and assemble products.
• Manage parts catalog and design library. Use stock components in custom situations to meet customer requirements.
• Review specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
• Maintain proactive and collaborative communication with the manufacturing team to ensure proper assembly and operation of completed designs; modify and revise designs to remedy operating deficiencies and improve production efficiency.
• Meet urgent organizational needs while maintaining a strategic approach, improving processes, workflow, and data management practices.
