YOUR DIFFERENCE
- Engineering Development: Develop detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and schematics using CAD software. Collaborate closely with engineers and fabricators to create designs that are manufacturable, cost-efficient, and aligned with project goals. Perform engineering calculations and simulations to verify design performance, strength, and integrity.
- Design Optimization: Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to continuously refine and improve designs. Work cross-functionally to assist with material selection, component sourcing, and manufacturing processes. Support production teams by providing technical guidance during fabrication and assembly.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare and maintain accurate design documentation, including specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and revision histories. Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
- Production Support: Provide hands-on support to resolve design-related issues that arise during production. Troubleshoot challenges efficiently to minimize delays and maintain product quality. Act as a technical resource to help keep projects moving forward.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with advancements in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing technologies to drive innovation and enhance performance.
- Promote a culture of open communication, innovative problem solving, and continuous improvement with a positive, team-focused attitude.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge: Associate's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience in mechanical design and project management, preferably in a machine and fabrication environment. Minimum three (3) years of experience in Autocad or similar software. Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Understanding of applicable industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. Familiarity with design documentation, BOMs, and revision control within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Proficiency in CAD software to create detailed mechanical designs and drawings. Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, fabrication, and production teams. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards; work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment; and to contribute positively to a team-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Ability: This position is onsite at our Fremont, NE location and is NOT remote. A drug screen and background check are required.
