Mechanical Draftsman - BMU

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Draftsman (BMU) to prepare accurate shop drawings, layouts, and detailed fabrication drawings for Building Maintenance Units (BMU) and façade access systems. The candidate should have strong coordination skills with engineers, suppliers, and site teams to ensure drawings comply with project specifications, safety standards, and local authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare BMU shop drawings, GA drawings, and detailed fabrication drawings.
• Develop layout drawings for roof-mounted, track-mounted, and façade-mounted BMU systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and façade consultants for approvals.
• Review architectural and structural drawings to ensure BMU compatibility.
• Prepare as-built drawings after project completion.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, safety standards, and authority regulations.
• Assist in resolving site-related technical issues and drawing revisions.
• Maintain proper documentation and drawing registers.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Mechanical Draftsman, preferably in the BMU or façade access industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Strong hands-on experience with Revit (BIM modeling) and Tekla Structures.
• Strong understanding of BMU systems, including cradles, davits, monorails, and tracks.
• Knowledge of UAE construction standards and practices.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
