Mechanical / Electrical Technician at Oman Cement Company is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting plant machinery and electrical systems to ensure continuous and efficient cement production.

Job Description

1. Maintenance & Repairs

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:

Cement plant machinery (kilns, crushers, conveyors)

Electrical systems (motors, control panels)

Repair breakdowns and minimize downtime

Technicians in cement plants handle both mechanical and electrical systems to ensure continuous operations

2. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics

Identify faults in equipment and systems

Diagnose issues using tools and technical manuals

Implement quick and effective solutions

3. Equipment Inspection

Conduct routine inspections of machinery

Monitor wear and tear of components

Recommend replacement or upgrades

4. Installation & Commissioning

Assist in installing new machines and equipment

Support plant upgrades and expansion projects

Test systems after installation

5. Safety & Compliance

Follow strict HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies

Ensure all maintenance work meets safety standards

Use PPE and report hazards

6. Documentation & Reporting

Record maintenance activities and repairs

Maintain logs for equipment performance

Report recurring issues to engineers

Work Environment

Industrial cement plant setting

Shift-based work (including nights)

Physically demanding with exposure to dust, heat, and noise

Required Skills

Knowledge of:

Mechanical systems (hydraulics, pumps, conveyors)

Electrical systems (motors, PLC basics, wiring)

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to read technical drawings and manuals

Teamwork and safety awareness

Qualifications

Diploma or technical certification in:

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Experience: 2–8+ years in plant maintenance or industrial environment

Pay: From RO1,000.000 per month
