About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Site Mechanical Engineer
to join our team at a leading engineering consultancy firm. This position focuses on the
on-site management and implementation
of mechanical systems for high-profile construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical system installations, a deep understanding of mechanical systems requirements, and the ability to oversee and coordinate site activities to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of quality mechanical installations.
As a Site Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, health and safety regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the installation of mechanical systems on-site, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and other mechanical systems.

Ensure all mechanical works are executed in compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes).

Perform site inspections to ensure mechanical installations meet quality and safety standards.

Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and consultants to address technical issues and ensure smooth execution of works.

Review and approve subcontractor shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.

Monitor and control site progress to ensure timely completion of mechanical installations, testing, and commissioning activities.

Provide technical support during site meetings, ensuring alignment between mechanical installations and other disciplines.

Ensure all mechanical installations are tested, commissioned, and fully operational before project handover.

Support and participate in the preparation of daily and weekly reports regarding mechanical site activities, progress, and issues.

Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure compliance with all local codes, permits, and regulations specific to healthcare facilities.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the mechanical installation process.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.

7 to 12 years of professional experience
in mechanical engineering.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing.

Experience in supervising mechanical installations and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local regulations.

Proficient in reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.

Familiarity with mechanical system testing, commissioning, and handover processes.

Ability to manage site activities effectively, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and resolve issues quickly.

Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and their application in the construction industry.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Membership in a professional engineering organization (e.g., ASHRAE, IMechE) is preferred.

Experience working under FIDIC or other standard contract forms is a plus.
