Key Responsibilities
1. Design & Development
- Design mechanical systems for HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, firefighting, and drainage in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
- Perform heat load calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and pump head calculations using relevant design software (e.g., HAP, DuctSizer, Elite, etc.).
- Develop detailed mechanical layouts, schematics, and single-line diagrams.
- Ensure designs comply with local authority regulations (e.g., DM, DCD, DEWA) and international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, CIBSE).
2. Documentation & Technical Reports
- Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and as-built drawings submitted by contractors.
- Prepare tender documents and assist in technical evaluations during the bidding stage.
3. Project Coordination
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil teams to ensure fully integrated designs.
- Attend design coordination and client meetings to discuss project progress and design issues.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and clients throughout all project stages.
4. Site Supervision & Inspection
- Conduct site inspections to ensure that installation and workmanship comply with approved drawings and specifications.
- Verify testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety requirements on site.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all mechanical systems meet energy efficiency, environmental, and safety standards.
- Incorporate sustainable design principles, such as energy recovery systems, water-saving fixtures, and green building practices.
- Support LEED, Estidama, or sustainability certifications when applicable.
6. Value Engineering & Optimization
- Propose cost-effective design alternatives and system improvements without compromising functionality or performance.
- Participate in value engineering sessions and optimize equipment selection for performance and efficiency.
7. Leadership & Technical Support
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and CAD technicians.
- Review and check design deliverables prepared by the mechanical team.
- Stay updated with technological advancements and industry best practices.
Requirements:
1. Must be a graduate of Mechanical Engineering
2. Must have a minimum experience of 5 years, not less than 2 years in Dubai
