Mechanical Engineer

A Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation employer partner is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain mechanical systems and components, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
-Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and processes using CAD tools.
-Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and stress analysis to validate designs.
-Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
-Conduct testing and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to ensure performance and safety.
-Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and manuals.
-Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
-Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to product innovation.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
-3+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
-Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
-Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical principles.
-Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.

Preferred Skills:
-Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics).
-Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, ISO, or ANSI.
-Familiarity with project management tools and Engineering methodologies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
