We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own all mechanical design and integration for advanced power-conversion products, including EV charging systems, bi-directional V2G/V2H solutions, and microgrid hardware.

This role carries full responsibility from concept through production release, ensuring designs ship on time, meet cost targets, and are fully manufacturable at scale.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role requiring strong CAD ownership, prototype leadership, and close collaboration with electrical and systems engineering.

Primary Purpose

Own mechanical design and integration for EV charging, bi-directional V2G/V2H, and microgrid power-conversion products from concept through production release, delivering hardware that meets schedule, cost, and assembly-readiness requirements.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own full mechanical CAD development (parts, sub-assemblies, and top-level integration) using external references and configurations
  • Create, maintain, and release all mechanical models, drawings, and purchase-part specifications
  • Export and own top-level BOMs directly from CAD
  • Lead R&D prototype and pilot builds, including hands-on assembly, validation, redlines, lessons learned, and test documentation
  • Support electrical and systems engineers with fit, cable and harness routing, and build sequencing
  • Deliver complete and accurate release packages on committed dates (drawings, STEP, DXF, BOMs, specifications)
  • Actively drive design-for-cost, manufacturability, and margin improvement

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of SolidWorks experience, including advanced assemblies, configurations, sheet metal, and weldments
  • Proven ability to own hardware from concept through production release
  • Hands-on prototype build experience, including assembly, validation testing, and basic electrical work
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and DFM
  • Familiarity with PDM file management and SolidWorks BOM exports
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with changing priorities

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong ownership mindset and accountability for deliverables
  • Ability to translate system-level requirements into manufacturable hardware
  • Willingness to be hands-on when needed, especially during builds and validation
  • Clear communication with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams

Why Join Us

  • Benefits starting 1st of the month after hire (full medical, dental, vision, life and disability options)
  • Work on cutting-edge EV, V2G/V2H, and microgrid technologies
  • Influence cost, manufacturability, and product success from day one
