Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Building Construction

Location: Dubai, UAE

Reports To: Project Manager / MEP Manager

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and executing mechanical works at building construction sites, including HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and other MEP services. The role requires regular site visits, coordination with consultants and subcontractors, and ensuring work is done in compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and safety standards. A valid UAE driving license is essential for site mobility.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Supervision:

• Supervise mechanical works at construction sites, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, and other building services.
• Ensure work progress aligns with project schedules and technical specifications.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor contractor and technician activities.

Design & Coordination:

• Review and interpret mechanical drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and electrical engineers to resolve site issues.
• Liaise with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure proper execution.

Quality Control & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with UAE codes and international standards
• Conduct material inspections and ensure quality control of mechanical installations.
• Prepare method statements, inspection requests (IRs), and other QA/QC documentation.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain project documentation including daily progress reports, test reports, and handover documentation.
• Assist in preparing as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and snag lists.

Mobility & Field Work:

• Conduct regular site visits across multiple project locations in the UAE.
• Ensure punctual attendance at meetings, inspections, and technical reviews.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in mechanical works for building construction projects in the UAE.
• Valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, installation practices, and local authority regulations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and MEP software (Revit, HAP, etc.) is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and site management skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with authority approvals (Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
• UAE Society of Engineers membership is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,500.00 per month
