Looking for aMechanical Engineers with minimum 5 years' Operation and Maintenance experience for Wastewater Treatment plants.

Core Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the installation and upkeep of critical machinery not limited to submersible pumps, blowers, valves, bar screens, clarifiers.
  • Project Management: Manage engineering projects from concept to commissioning including reviewing technical submittals and coordinating with electrical and instrumentation teams.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all mechanical systems meet regulatory environmental standards and safety protocols. This includes following API, ASME, and ISO standards.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Establish and oversee routine maintenance schedules for rotating equipment such as centrifugal and submersible pumps, blowers, disc filters and mixers.
  • Corrective Repairs: Lead troubleshooting and emergency repair efforts for critical failures in bar screens, clarifiers, dewatering centrifuges, disc filters and aeration systems to minimize plant downtime.
  • Operational Optimization: Monitor equipment / plant performance data and adjust settings-such as flow rates, pressure or chemical dosing-to ensure continuous service and environmental compliance with discharge permits.
  • Asset Management: Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software to track spare parts inventory, work orders, and total equipment life cycles.
  • Systems Supervision: Oversee the daily tasks of mechanical technicians, ensuring that all work follows high safety and quality standards.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed operational logs, prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Mechanical Equipments. Adopt and follow company protocols and procedures in reporting matrix.

  • Process Machinery: Air compressors, gearboxes, valves (pneumatic/hydraulic), and Odor control units.
  • Treatment Units: Integrated Pre-treatment, belt filter presses, and UV disinfection systems.

Reporting Structure
  • Reports to: Plant Manager / Operations Manager
  • Supervises: Junior Engineers/Technicians, Operators, Shift In-Charges for MEP activities
  • Coordinate closely with: Chemical, Process and Mechanical Engineers and Production teams.
  • Coordinates with Company Management, vendors as required.
Key Skills & Qualifications :
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in interpreting complex P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), blueprints, and SCADA interface data (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of wastewater-specific processes such as activated sludge, membrane filtration, and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection etc.
  • Safety Training: Deep knowledge of confined space entry, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols, and handling of hazardous chemicals/raw sewage.

This role will feature a hybrid schedule, combining office-based designs / review and engineering coordination work involving on-site deployments at Wastewater Treatment Plant during Construction for inspection, Commissioning supervision and Post Commissioning during the O&M Phase as deemed required.

Engineers must be prepared to respond to 24/7 emergency call-outs and work in diverse weather conditions.
