Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC systems with valid QCDD Grade C Certification and preferably UPDA/MMUP registration. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of HVAC and mechanical ventilation systems in accordance with Qatar standards, QCDD requirements, ASHRAE guidelines, and project specifications. The role requires coordination with consultants, contractors, authorities, and clients to ensure successful project delivery and approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and review HVAC, air conditioning, ventilation, smoke management, and mechanical systems.
• Perform cooling load calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing, equipment selection, and HVAC system optimization.
• Prepare and review shop drawings, technical submittals, method statements, and design calculations.
• Ensure compliance with QCDD regulations, NFPA standards, ASHRAE guidelines, and Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS).
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, architects, electrical engineers, and civil engineers throughout project execution.
• Manage HVAC installation activities and supervise subcontractors on-site.
• Conduct testing, balancing, commissioning, and performance verification of HVAC systems.
• Support QCDD submissions, inspections, approvals, and authority coordination.
• Participate in fire and life safety compliance reviews related to HVAC systems, smoke extraction, stairwell pressurization, and mechanical ventilation.
• Prepare project progress reports, technical documentation, and compliance records.
• Identify engineering issues and provide effective technical solutions.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements during project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Valid QCDD Grade C Certification (mandatory).
• Valid UPDA/MMUP Grade C or above (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC design, installation, commissioning, or maintenance projects.
• Experience in commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial, or high-rise building projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ACMV design, smoke management, and fire safety integration.

Technical Skills

• HVAC load calculations and psychrometric analysis.
• Duct and piping design.
• Equipment selection and scheduling.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, and QCDD standards.
• AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Duct Sizer, Pipe Sizer, and Microsoft Office.
• Preparation of authority submission documents and technical reports.
• Testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems.
