Job Description – Mechanical Design Engineer (Consultant)

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer with 5–7 years of UAE consultancy experience to join our growing engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and supervision support of mechanical systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with Abu Dhabi and Dubai regulations, international standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and prepare HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire-fighting systems for building projects.
• Perform engineering calculations, load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection.
• Prepare design drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical reports.
• Develop mechanical designs in compliance with UAE codes, authority requirements, and international standards.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare authority submission packages and obtain approvals from relevant authorities.
• Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and technical proposals.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction stages.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and client presentations.
• Ensure project deliverables are completed within budget and project timelines.
• Apply value engineering principles to optimize system performance and project costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of Mechanical Design experience within an Engineering Consultancy in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Abu Dhabi Building Code
• Dubai Building Code
• ADDC / AADC Requirements
• DEWA Regulations
• Abu Dhabi & Dubai Civil Defence Requirements
• Municipality Regulations
• Estidama Sustainability Requirements
• ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, BS, and relevant international standards
• Proficiency in:
• AutoCAD
• Revit MEP
• BIM Coordination
• HAP Software
• Duct Sizer & Pipe Sizer Software
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• UAE Driving License is an advantage.
