Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Dubai, UAE
Experience: Minimum 7 years, 5 years (GCC experience required)

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in building services and infrastructure design. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and infrastructure utilities, with a good understanding of local authority regulations across the GCC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
  • Prepare design drawings, calculations, specifications, and BOQs in accordance with project requirements and international standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Coordinate with outsourced MEP designers to ensure all submissions are delivered on time, in line with the agreed scope of work, project requirements, relevant standards, and authority regulations.
  • Coordinate with the site team and MEP subcontractors to ensure all works are carried out according to the design drawings, approved method statements, project specifications, and the execution program timeline.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved designs and standards.
  • Support project managers in technical discussions, progress reporting, and client meetings.
  • Ensure all mechanical designs meet safety, sustainability, and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in buildings and infrastructure design, with at least 5 years in the GCC.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and infrastructure utilities, with the ability to perform calculations, size equipment, and review layouts in line with relevant standards and authority requirements.
  • Familiarity with GCC codes and authority regulations (ASHRAE, NFPA, Dubai Municipality, DCD, etc.).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Experience in Villa compounds, building complexes, commercial, residential, or mixed‑use projects.
