Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in Computational Design to join our team and contribute to the development and implementation of advanced workflows within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.

This role within the Computational Design & Technology (CDT) – Digital Practice team offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate across disciplines, focusing on optimizing design processes and enhancing coordination by driving computational workflows and automation across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to identify challenges, exchange insights, and integrate computational tools and solutions that streamline coordination and improve project quality.
• Leverage AEC industry experience to identify opportunities for enhancing project design quality.
• Develop computational workflows and automation scripts to translate design intent into efficient, constructible, and data-driven solutions.
• Integrate computational efforts with BIM platforms to ensure seamless collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for complex design and coordination challenges, by leveraging the latest technological advancements to achieve project objectives.
• Maintain an open mindset toward learning and adopting new tools and methodologies to enhance workflows and drive innovation
• Contribute to knowledge sharing through mentoring, workshops, and documentation of best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (master’s degree in computational design is a strong advantage)
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the AEC industry, with proven expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design, coordination, and workflows.
• A creative, solution-oriented mindset with a strong ability to translate design and engineering challenges into computational workflows.
• Solid understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) methodologies, standards, and multidisciplinary coordination processes, particularly within MEP systems inside Revit
• Strong proficiency in Dynamo with demonstrated experience developing advanced parametric and automation workflows for complex designs
• Hands-on experience in Python and/or C# for creating custom tools, scripts, and/or plug-ins
• Exposure to other 3D modelling platforms such as Rhino.
• Experience in Grasshopper, and Rhino.Inside is a major advantage.
• Proven ability to lead research and development initiatives, test new computational methods, and implement innovative digital workflows.
• Experience working within interdisciplinary teams, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and accountability.
• Passion for continuous learning, staying ahead with emerging design technologies and automation tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders.
