A graduate degree in engineering, with a focus on mechanical engineering, is preferred. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform independent engineering and mathematical analysis of mechanical designs, including stress/strain analysis, failure mode prediction, heat transfer calculations, and finite element analysis (FEA). Hands-on experience with materials selection, mechanical component design, fabrication techniques, and the assembly and testing of mechanical components and final products is highly desired. Experience with project management and familiarity with Systems Engineering best practices would be a plus. Knowledge of industry codes and standards, including the International Building Code (IBC), National Electrical Code (NEC), ASME standards, and OSHA Construction and General Industry regulations, is also preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) Test and Evaluation programs and mission support activities is a plus.
A valid state driver’s license is required, and employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a security investigation. The selected candidate must also meet all eligibility requirements to work at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) installation.
