MOBIS Technical Center of North America is the Research & Development Center for Hyundai MOBIS, a Tier 1 supplier and an affiliate under Hyundai Motor Group. Mobis delivers the design and development of advanced engineering, autonomous driving, infotainment, component modules, safety, brake and steering systems, lamp, ICS/electronics and software development solutions that consider the safety and convenience of our customers as well as the future.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Design and develop mechanical components for electric vehicle (EV) powertrain systems, including traction motors, inverters, DC-DC converters, and battery enclosures, with a focus on thermal management, structural performance, and manufacturability; perform tolerance analysis, stress analysis, and thermal modeling using CAD and CAE tools to validate designs under varying operating conditions; collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper integration of mechanical systems with electrical and software components; support prototype fabrication, lead mechanical testing, and incorporate feedback into iterative design improvements; coordinate with suppliers to assess feasibility, cost, and production readiness; investigate field issues, analyze root causes, and propose design or process modifications; and prepare detailed 2D and 3D documentation and submit engineering change requests in compliance with internal standards and customer specifications.


Requirements:

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related field, and at least 1 year of experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Position requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activity.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

A typical work week is 40 hours/week.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.

Shop or laboratory work involves some exposure to moderate risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions.

In-field, PG, or track testing involves frequent exposure to unpleasant elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, chemicals, etc.

Stress may occur periodically.
