Mechanical Engineer – HVAC Design (2–4 Years Experience)
Location: Westerville, OH (On-site only)

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 2–4 years of experience in HVAC system design to join our growing team in Westerville, Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial and residential building projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC systems and air distribution systems
• Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system sizing
• Prepare construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications
• Prepare Model Energy Code Compliance reports
• Coordinate designs with architects, electrical engineers, and other project stakeholders
• Perform review of shop drawings and RFIs and provide appropriate responses.
• Support project execution from concept through construction
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
• Assist with field inspections, construction administration, and troubleshooting as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 2–4 years of professional experience in HVAC system design
• Exposure to/proficiency with HVAC calculation software (e.g. HAP, Manual J)
• Exposure to/proficiency with Energy Code Reporting Software (e.g. ComCheck)
• Exposure to/proficiency with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD 2025, Revit)
• Exposure to the construction industry
• Working knowledge of building codes and standards (Ohio Mechanical Code, ASHRAE, ANSI, etc.)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• EIT certification or PE licensure (or progress toward licensure) is a plus
