Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Designer

Custom Fabrication Company working in the following industries: Experiential Events, Broadway, Movies, special events, retail, permanent installations and trade shows. We build unique, detailed props, scenery and displays that encompass a broad variety of specifications. Our environment is fast-paced and we handle multiple projects with rapid lead-times and firm deadlines.

We are seeking a multi-talented Mechanical Engineer/ Industrial Designer with a broad skill set. to work on upcoming project World Cup, Superbowl, PGA, etc

Qualifications:

· Ability to engineer the construction of custom fabricated product ranging from specialty props to scenery with moving parts, LED’s, special effects to custom cabinetry displays with built-in electronics and access for wire management

· AutoCAD, Solid Works (SWCP preferred), with ability to export files for CNC Machines including CNC Router, CNC Plasma, 3D printer, laser cutting, etc.

· Ability to produce shop drawings, renderings and submittals.

· Auto CAD Inventor, Solid works proficient

· Photoshop, Corel Draw, Illustrator a plus

· Electrical Skills including basic wiring, low voltage, LED, small motors, sensors, switches, relays, mosfets

· Air controls including switches, cylinders, and stroke control.

· Arduino programming

· PLC ladder logic coding

· Ability to spec and source materials

· Understanding of machine shop tools and practices including lathe, milling machine, TIG and MIG, Woodworking

· Communicate and collaborate with Head of Engineering, Director of Production and Project Manager in regards to scheduling, execution of projects, client expectations and ordering of materials

· Basic Word, Excel and Email skills are required

· Attention to detail is necessary

· To work in this environment, individual must have the personality to communicate clearly and get along with fabricators, artists and project managers in a collaborative environment. This position also requires problem solving skills and the ability to handle daily stressful aspects of projects, including but not limited to, constant rush orders, challenging details and last-minute changes from clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
