Site Supervisor / Structural Supervisor – Large Span Metal Skylight Structures

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Site / Structural Supervisor to oversee the execution of a large-span metal skylight structure composed of steel pipes, I-sections, H-sections, and custom connection joints. The role involves supervision from foundation works to complete superstructure erection, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, safety standards, and construction quality.

Key Responsibilities1. Site Supervision & Execution

• Supervise foundation works, including anchor bolts, base plates, levels, and alignment.
• Oversee fabrication, assembly, and erection of large-span steel structures.
• Ensure correct installation of:
• Steel pipes
• I-sections and H-sections
• Connection joints, plates, gussets, and stiffeners
• Monitor on-site welding and bolted connections as per approved details.

2. Quality Control

• Verify construction as per approved shop drawings, structural drawings, and specifications.
• Check alignment, levels, tolerances, and joint accuracy during erection.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure rectification of defects if any.

3. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with:
• Structural designers
• Fabricators
• Erection teams
• Contractors and subcontractors
• Provide daily progress reports and highlight technical or site issues.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Enforce site safety protocols during lifting, welding, and erection works.
• Supervise crane operations and lifting plans for heavy steel members.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and project standards.

5. Problem Solving

• Identify on-site challenges related to steel erection and propose practical solutions.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in supervising large-span metal or steel structures.
• Strong experience with:
• Steel pipe structures
• I-section and H-section framing
• Skylights, sheds, atriums, or long-span roofs
• Good understanding of:
• Steel connections
• Welding and bolting techniques
• Foundations for steel structures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs50,000.00 - Rs80,000.00 per month
