Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit to generate:
- Piping models
- Piping drawings
- Isometric drawings (fabrication and installation)
- Truck loading drawings
- BOMs (Bill of Materials) and P&IDs
- Generate models using a coordinate system
- Communicate with field employees/surveying and coordinate piping fabrication based on field-verified measurements
- Provide the field with piping design solutions when needed
- Review customer-provided drawings for errors, questions, and missing information
- Write and submit RFI documents to the owner/engineer as needed
- Review customer-provided drawings and break apart the project into shippable fabrication
- Review customer-provided drawings and develop pressure testing plans
- Work directly with the quality control group (QA/QC) and incorporate quality control in mechanical drawings
- Work directly with the project management team to develop a fabrication plan, pressure testing plan, and schedule
- Meet with customers as the mechanical design point of contact for VEC
- Generate redline and as-built drawings based off field gathered dimensions
- Assemble, review, and order mechanical material for project
- Work with other staff mechanical engineers to continually improve VEC processes
- Provide pursuit model during estimating phase of projects to assist in constructability and pricing
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
