Mechanical Engineering Manager

LOCATION: Fresno County California (ONSITE)


Qualifications & Requirements


The successful candidate will be a highly experienced and technically proficient leader in mechanical engineering and product development.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering .
  • Experience: 7–10 years of progressive engineering leadership and product development experience, specifically utilizing phase-gate or structured NPD (New Product Development) systems .
  • Industry Focus: Must have experience in automotive powertrain , performance aftermarket , specialty vehicles , or other high-mechanical systems environments.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Expert proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Must be an expert with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Experience with advanced quality planning and documentation, including DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) .
  • Project Management: Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects, documentation control, BOM (Bill of Materials) creation , and configuration control in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities


This leadership role is responsible for structuring engineering workflows, ensuring technical excellence, and facilitating a smooth transition of products from design to production.

  • Engineering System Development: Build and implement structured systems for managing all engineering deliverables, including formal drawing release, CAD model control, BOM generation, testing data capture, and complete release packages.
  • Documentation and Process Overhaul: Lead the strategic overhaul of current documentation methods (e.g., transitioning from QuickBooks for ERP and Dropbox for document storage) to more scalable, secure, and modern solutions over time.
  • Design & Technical Approval: Review and formally approve engineering designs, complex technical calculations, SolidWorks models, and final production documentation packages.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, CNC/Machining, Assembly, and Quality teams to ensure a smooth and efficient hand-off from the Engineering department to full-scale production.
