Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (MEP) – High-Rise Construction

Location: UAE (Dubai / Abu Dhabi / Sharjah)

Experience: 5 to 6 Years

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer (MEP) specializing in high-rise construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems design, execution, and site supervision within high-rise commercial and residential buildings. The candidate will ensure that MEP installations comply with project specifications, local regulations, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed design, review, and coordination of MEP systems including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and drainage for high-rise buildings.
• Prepare mechanical load calculations, equipment specifications, and system layouts using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant software.
• Supervise MEP installation activities on construction sites to ensure adherence to design, project timelines, and safety standards.
• Coordinate technical aspects of MEP works with architects, structural engineers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Liaise with local authorities (DEWA, DCD, DM) for obtaining necessary approvals, permits, and inspections.
• Conduct site inspections, quality control, and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues during construction.
• Assist in procurement of mechanical equipment by preparing technical specifications and reviewing vendor submittals.
• Prepare progress reports, installation schedules, and maintain documentation related to MEP systems.
• Support commissioning and handover processes ensuring functionality and regulatory compliance of all mechanical installations.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with project management teams to achieve project goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5 to 6 years of relevant experience in MEP design and site execution, preferably in high-rise construction projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, and other design/calculation tools.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, fire fighting systems, and mechanical codes and standards applicable in the UAE.
• Familiarity with local regulatory requirements, inspection, and approval processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
