Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector with strong expertise in high-rise building projects to join our engineering consultancy team in Ras Al Khaimah. The candidate will be responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring that all mechanical works are executed in compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, local authority regulations, QA/QC standards, and project schedules.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, and mechanical systems inspection within high-rise residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments in the UAE/GCC region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections for all mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, drainage, water supply, ventilation, and related systems.
• Verify installation works are carried out as per approved shop drawings, project specifications, method statements, and applicable standards.
• Monitor contractor activities and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and project requirements.
• Review material approvals, MIRs, WIRs, inspection requests, and technical submittals related to mechanical systems.
• Inspect ductwork, chilled water piping, FCUs, AHUs, pumps, valves, firefighting piping, sprinkler systems, and plumbing installations.
• Ensure testing and commissioning activities are properly conducted and documented.
• Coordinate with resident engineers, project managers, architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams.
• Prepare inspection reports, snag lists, NCRs, and daily/weekly progress reports.
• Monitor site progress and identify delays, quality concerns, or non-conformance issues.
• Attend coordination meetings with contractors, consultants, and clients.
• Ensure compliance with UAE authority regulations, DEWA/SEWA/RAK Municipality requirements, Civil Defense standards, and international codes.
• Verify as-built drawings and handover documentation prior to project completion.
• Support project closeout activities including final inspections and authority approvals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as Mechanical Inspector in high-rise building projects.
• UAE/GCC consultancy experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and MEP inspection procedures.
• Familiarity with UAE building codes, ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, and local authority standards.
• Experience in handling consultant inspections, QA/QC documentation, and contractor coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Office and reporting documentation.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Valid UAE Driving License preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in engineering consultancy firms in the UAE.
• Experience in high-rise residential and commercial towers.
• Knowledge of testing & commissioning procedures.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination and MEP clash review processes.
• Immediate joiners preferred.
