Mechanical Maintenance Operator

As a Mechanical Maintenance Operator in our mill’s heat treat area, you will be responsible for maintaining all department equipment and buildings to keep them operating in a safe manner while eliminating downtime. You will complete work assigned by the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader, Maintenance Planner, or other departmental management in a safe and efficient manner.
Main Responsibilities

• Work closely with operations department personnel to reduce downtime and improve equipment utilization
• Work with all outside contractor personnel to efficiently maintain the Heat Treat Department equipment
• Contribute to and participate in continuous improvement projects
• Correct mechanical breakdowns and work to improve process and equipment to avoid future breakdowns
• Read, interpret and understand blueprints and drawings including identifying parts to drawing and material identification
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment as required and enter work orders

About You

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years of heavy industrial maintenance experience
• Mid to high level of hydraulic troubleshooting skill
• Experience with pneumatic and lubrication systems and alignment of equipment
• High level of mechanical troubleshooting of industrial equipment
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Preferred: Advanced welding and cutting skills, Heat Treating experience – quench & temper, normalize, and Maintenance Connection experience
