Overview
Job Purpose: Perform mechanical maintenance tasks on safety and non-safety related systems, structures and components such as pumps, valves, HVAC, chillers, heat exchangers, and EDG as prescribed to effectively maintain the plant and ensure high equipment reliability and performance.
Responsibilities, Activities & Accountability
- Mechanical Maintenance: Perform mechanical maintenance activities to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner and with quality to achieve operational readiness and to operate with the highest level of safety and reliability.
- Maintenance Execution: Perform planned and corrective mechanical maintenance activities and surveillances on mechanical plant systems, structures and components to ensure appropriate functioning. This includes, among others, NSSS mechanical equipment (reactor, steam generators, fuel handling facilities, HVAC, heat exchangers, pumps, EDG, AAC DG, cranes & hoists, valves, chillers, hangers & supports) and the Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment (pumps, valves, intake, rad-waste equipment, chillers, compressors, engines).
- Resource Planning: Prepare and stage maintenance work activities, including submission of procurement requests for equipment spare parts and special tools to ensure maintenance activities are properly resourced.
- Pre/Post-Job Oversight: Attend pre- and post-job briefings and oversee maintenance teams to ensure alignment with maintenance standards and Nawah procedures.
- Documentation: Record equipment history reports following maintenance to maintain an accurate history; conduct periodic and surveillance tests to confirm efficient plant mechanical system performance or identify deficiencies.
- Data Management: Update equipment and material master data in the material management system to ensure accuracy with plant and warehouse records.
- Safety & Compliance: Comply with Maintenance Code of Conduct procedures and guidelines to ensure safety and reliability of the plant.
- Troubleshooting: Perform troubleshooting on mechanical systems and components to resolve issues accurately and promptly.
Staff Training & Qualification
- Ensure management expectations on the Conduct of Maintenance are implemented and adhered to.
- Provide training feedback on program effectiveness through evaluation of performance to ensure high-quality training and qualification programs.
Outage & Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
- Support outage and/or the ERO as assigned to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; may require shift work or off-hours support.
Operational Planning
- Provide input into the development and implementation of work instructions, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure that all relevant reports are prepared timely and accurately to meet the team's requirements and standards.
Qualifications
- High School
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- 3 years nuclear power plant operating experience, of which 1 year is in the mechanical field
