About the Role


About the Role

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will take a project leadership role, planning, developing, coordinating, and directing large-scale engineering projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features. You will hold full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments while developing novel solutions to unique problems that impact organizational programs.

This role requires strong technical competence, leadership, and collaboration, as you will work closely with other operational departments and customers to deliver successful projects.

In this role you are responsible for:

  • Provide leadership and project management for assigned engineering projects.
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate large engineering projects, including estimating personnel needs, scheduling, and assigning work to meet completion deadlines.
  • Act as a technical consultant, assisting with customer presentations and solving field acceptance issues.
  • Conduct initial budget analysis and define project requirements.
  • Ensure all assigned engineering projects meet specifications, functionality, timelines, and budgets.
  • Oversee project engineering tasks and supervise assigned team members to achieve goals within established constraints.
  • Lead and participate in engineering design reviews, ensuring accuracy, fit, and function of designs.
  • Provide regular project updates and status reports to leadership.
  • Collaborate with other functional departments to ensure critical project tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Provide performance input for personnel contributing to key projects.

  • Minimal direct supervision; ability to work independently within general objectives and project-specific limits.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline or equivalent experience required.
  • At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SolidWorks, EPDM, SAP, IES, and Windows-based engineering support tools.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical components and systems, including applications in manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to design and produce assembly and detail drawings, BOMs, timing diagrams, and supporting documentation (design basis, theory of operation).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and collaborative project execution.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead up to four engineering resources.
