ReLogic Research, Inc. is seeking a self-starting, highly motivated, experienced (5+ years) Mechanical Engineer with design, manufacturing, and testing experience for a full-time position at ReLogic. This Mechanical Research Engineer role will be in direct support of ReLogic’s efforts to solve priority problems highly aligned with our national defense strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform hand calculations on mechanical design assemblies, calculating basic stresses and possible interferences due to tolerance stack up, accounting for thermal effects and preloads
  • Create CAD models and derived drawings of parts and complex assemblies in SolidWorks
  • Support development of manufacturing equipment
  • Conduct ASTM standard thermo-mechanical material characterization tests

Requirements & Desired Skills

  • Active Secret security clearance or ability to receive and maintain clearance
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in relevant industry or technology area
  • SolidWorks modeling and drafting experience required
  • Familiar with ASME Y14.100, “Engineering Product definition and Related Documentation Practices”
  • Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) practices required
  • SolidWorks Product Data Management (PDM) experience is highly desired
  • Familiar with composite materials fabrication, e.g., prepreg lay-up, VARTM, etc., desired
  • Familiarity with ASTM testing of composites and ceramic materials desired
  • Experience with use of mechanical (Universal Test Machines) and/or thermo-physical test equipment (e.g., CTE, TGA, DSC) desired
  • Experience with basic machining equipment, e.g., drill press, manual mill and lathe, waterjet, etc. desired

This is full-time salaried position with full benefits offered. Approximately 10% of travel is expected.
