Mechanical Supervisor

About the Role

The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee day-to-day mechanical operations, maintenance, and installations. This role ensures all mechanical systems, equipment, and processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and hands-on experience in mechanical troubleshooting and team management.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, guide, and coordinate the work of mechanical technicians and maintenance staff.
• Oversee installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of mechanical machinery and equipment.
• Ensure all mechanical activities comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective measures.
• Monitor equipment performance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Work closely with production/operations teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Ensure availability of tools, spare parts, and materials required for mechanical tasks.
• Provide technical support and training to junior staff.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports on maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, supervision, or plant operations.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, conveyors, and industrial machinery.
• Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Excellent leadership and team-management skills.
• Good communication and documentation abilities.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards.

• Knowledge of CMMS or maintenance management software.
• Certification in mechanical safety or maintenance (preferred).
