Job Summary
The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supervising mechanical operations, maintenance, and installations within the Chemical Waste Treatment Plant. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical systems while complying with environmental regulations, HSE standards, and plant procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation activities within the waste treatment plant.
- Oversee mechanical equipment such as pumps, agitators, reactors, centrifuges, filters, compressors, conveyors, tanks, valves, and piping systems.
- Ensure all work complies with approved procedures, OEM manuals, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Monitor plant equipment performance and troubleshoot mechanical failures.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements, especially when handling hazardous and chemical waste.
- Conduct toolbox talks and ensure proper use of PPE by all mechanical staff.
- Coordinate with Operations, EHS, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams.
- Supervise contractors and ensure their work meets plant safety and quality standards.
- Maintain maintenance records, work permits, inspection reports, and spare-parts usage.
- Support shutdowns, turnarounds, emergency repairs, and commissioning activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years of mechanical supervision experience inpetrochemical, or industrial plants.
- Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment used in chemical processes.
- Experience working with corrosive, hazardous, and toxic materials is essential.
- Ability to read P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
