Job description:
Job Title: Mechanical Technician (Facilities Management)Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, motors, compressors, and piping systems.
- Conduct timely corrective maintenance to resolve faults or breakdowns as per job orders and priority.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
2. HVAC System Maintenance
- Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC systems, including air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), chilled water systems, and ventilation systems.
- Replace filters, belts, bearings, and other components as necessary.
- Monitor system performance and optimize energy efficiency.
3. Plumbing & Piping
- Repair and install piping systems for water supply, drainage, and other mechanical utilities.
- Address leaks, clogs, and pressure issues in plumbing systems.
4. Equipment Operation & Monitoring
- Operate and monitor mechanical equipment such as pumps, boilers, cooling towers, valves, and fire-fighting systems.
- Record readings and data from equipment and report abnormalities.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety standards, procedures, and use appropriate PPE.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and facility safety policies.
- Support emergency response procedures in case of mechanical failures or hazards.
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate logs of daily activities, completed jobs, and material usage.
- Report major issues, downtime, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining maintenance records and asset history.
7. Coordination & Teamwork
- Coordinate with other technicians, electricians, supervisors, and contractors to complete tasks efficiently.
- Support other disciplines (electrical, civil, MEP) during joint maintenance activities.
- Provide technical input for facility improvement projects when needed.
8. Tools & Inventory Management
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments safely and correctly.
- Ensure proper care, storage, and inventory of mechanical tools and spare parts.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED1,800.00 - AED2,000.00 per month
