Casa Grande Academy is a 32-bed staff-secure residential behavioral health facility for moderate to high-risk adjudicated and non-adjudicated males between the ages of 12-17. Utilizing evidence-based treatment methodology, we provide clinical and therapeutic services, as well as the tools, motivations, life skills and education necessary for our residents to lead successful lives and reach their full potential. The program offers an on-campus fully accredited school, grades 6-12, which offers special education services, high school diplomas, or GED programming.

Job Summary:

The Medication Technician (Med Tech) is responsible for the accurate administration and documentation of medications to clients in accordance with facility policies and state regulations. The Med Tech will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) and provide support in daily healthcare operations to ensure the well-being of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescribed medications to clients as directed by the RN and in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication administration records, including documentation of any refusals or adverse reactions.
• Monitor clients for any side effects or medication-related issues and report concerns to the RN immediately.
• Assist the RN in routine healthcare tasks, including vital signs monitoring, medical documentation, and basic first aid as needed.
• Maintain a secure and organized medication storage area, ensuring proper inventory control and timely medication refills.
• Follow all infection control procedures and facility policies to maintain a safe and clean healthcare environment.
• Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and healthcare professionals to support a coordinated approach to care.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to remain updated on best practices and facility protocols.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid & Active Medical Assistant Certification
• Prior experience in medication administration, preferably in a behavioral health or juvenile care setting, is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow medication administration procedures accurately.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and documentation procedures.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed for job duties.
• Work may involve exposure to challenging behaviors and require de-escalation skills.
