Job Title: MEDICAL TECHNICIAN

Job Description:

Job Duties:

· Adhere to the Consumer’s Bill of Rights per DATS policy/procedure manual

· AMAP will follow all company health and safety policies/procedures including, but not limited to OSHA Standards, Universal Precautions, use of PPE, and medical aseptic practices.

· AMAP must notify RN immediately:

o Any changes in signs or symptoms

o Medications need to be disposed of

o Medication appears unusual

o New prescriptions are ordered

o Consumer refuses medications

o Medications were not able to be given in acceptable timeline

o If there is any doubt or question about any part of the medication administration process

o If there are any questions about PRN medications

o If there is any deviation from the “rights” including: consumer, drug, dosage, time, route and record

· Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

· High school degree/GED required

· Background check to ensure that they are not listed on the state administered Nurse Aide Abuse Registry

· Have a criminal background check and not have any convictions for crimes against persons or have drug related charges

· CPR/First Aid Training

· Competent in reading, writing, and comprehending English

· Successfully completed the WV DHHR AMAP program and be approved by authorized AMAP RN.

· Pass state competency test

· Participate in retraining every 2 years by AMAP RN.

· Be deemed competent by the AMAP RN.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 48 per week
