Experienced Med Tech / Personal Care Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Med Tech/PCA to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, and other senior care needs. The Med Tech/PCA will support medical staff by assisting with daily patient needs, medication administration, and documentation while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families through dedicated caregiving and medical support.

Responsibilities

  • Additional hours may be needed to accomadate business needs and peak work loads
  • Assist with patient care activities including hygiene, mobility, and daily living tasks
  • Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and within scope of practice
  • Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
  • Support patients with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, and memory care
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff or healthcare providers
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including HIPAA regulations and infection control procedures
  • Assist with medical procedures under supervision, including wound care or other treatments requiring clinical knowledge of physiology and anatomy
  • Support patients with disabilities or those receiving hospice or palliative care in a compassionate manner
  • Ensure a clean, safe environment for patients at all times

Skills

  • Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home health care preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation
  • Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassion and patience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $17.25 per hour
