Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician (Med Tech) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including assisted living communities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. Your expertise will support the health and well-being of individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, and other memory care requirements. As a Med Tech, you will work closely with nursing staff to perform essential clinical tasks, ensure accurate medical documentation, and uphold compliance with HIPAA regulations. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to creating a safe, caring environment for our patients and residents.

Duties

  • Assist with patient care activities such as vital signs monitoring, medication administration, catheter care, tube feeding, and other basic nursing tasks under supervision
  • Support residents and patients in daily activities within assisted living and senior care settings to promote independence and comfort
  • Document medical information accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and assisting with hygiene routines
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to observe changes in patient conditions and report findings promptly
  • Assist with mobility support and transfer procedures for individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges
  • Follow all HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy during record keeping and communication

Experience

  • Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing principles is essential
  • Experience with medication administration, vital signs measurement, catheter care, and tube feeding techniques is required
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient records
  • Background working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia enhances your ability to provide empathetic care
  • Previous exposure to hospice or memory care settings is advantageous
  • Certification as a Med Tech or Nursing Assistant (CNA) is strongly preferred; ongoing training in medical records management and HIPAA compliance is beneficial

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.98 - $30.08 per hour
