Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician (Med Tech) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide essential support in patient care settings, ensuring accurate medical documentation, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Duties
- Assist with patient care activities including vital signs measurement, catheter care, tube feeding, and medication administration in compliance with medical protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Support nursing staff by preparing medical supplies, updating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, and documenting medical records accurately
- Monitor patients’ physiological functions by observing symptoms related to anatomy and physiology knowledge, reporting any abnormalities promptly
- Provide compassionate care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease in memory or hospice care settings
- Assist with activities of daily living for residents in assisted living or nursing home environments, ensuring safety and comfort at all times
- Maintain medical documentation meticulously, including recording vital signs, medication logs, and other pertinent health information
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery across acute and community-based settings
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and record-keeping
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks including medication administration and tube feeding
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and safety procedures in healthcare settings
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in fast-paced environments
- Valid certification as a Med Tech or equivalent credential; additional certifications in caregiving or nursing assistance are advantageous
