Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and hospitals. This role involves providing high-quality patient care to individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, dementia, and other conditions. The Medical Technician will be responsible for performing essential medical tasks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining accurate medical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities and personal hygiene.
• Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper medication management.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Utilize the MAR system (such as Bluestep) for efficient patient management.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Engage with patients to provide emotional support and companionship while promoting their dignity and independence.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with patient care techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in using MAR systems; experience with Bluestep is a plus.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating empathy and compassion for patients' needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.25 - $14.50 per hour
