Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician (Med Tech) to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist with daily patient care activities such as vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic nursing procedures
- Support residents and patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, hygiene, and feeding assistance
- Document medical information accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner
- Administer treatments such as tube feeding, catheter care, and other specialized procedures following physician orders and safety protocols
- Monitor patient physiology and respond promptly to changes in condition or emergencies
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and medical records
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols
- Experience with medical documentation systems such as EMR/EHR platforms (e.g., Epic or Cerner)
- Familiarity with caring for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and basic nursing tasks accurately and efficiently
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and with patients of diverse backgrounds
- Certification as a Med Tech or Nursing Assistant is required; additional certifications in hospice or dementia care are a plus
